Job Overview:
The Lead Naval Architect plays a pivotal role in interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. They will solve complex naval architecture problems independently with minimal guidance. The role may include leading teams or projects and requires deep expertise in naval architecture and broad knowledge within the engineering discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering teams in design and installation of offshore structures, including conceptual, FEED, and detailed analyses
- Provide installation load assessments and calculations to ensure structural integrity and equipment capacity
- Evaluate weather conditions for offshore operations
- Address complex problems with in-depth skills and broad business knowledge
- Prepare detailed design calculations, reports, and procedures
- Manage time and resources effectively as Lead Engineer
Required Qualifications:
- 15-20 years of oil and gas experience, leading engineering teams and performing naval analysis for offshore structures
- Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture (Master's preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of installation techniques, analysis methods, standards, codes, and guidelines
- Project coordination and execution skills
- Registered Professional Engineer or member of a professional engineering society (preferred)
