Principal Civil Asset Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Civil Asset Engineer to join our Utilities Asset Planning and Management Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing emergent pressure main failures, reviewing asset plans and data, and developing and supporting the delivery of emergent renewals for sewer pressure pipes and reservoirs.
Key Responsibilities- Manage emergent pressure main failures by providing engineering advice to assess failure mode, scope, and manage the delivery of sewerage pipe condition assessment or reservoirs.
- Review asset plans, asset data, drawings, standards, and specifications.
- Develop and support the delivery of emergent renewals for sewer pressure pipes or reservoirs.
- Progress work to mitigate safety, environmental, and financial risks.
- Undertake root cause analysis.
- Progress reporting on scope delivery.
- Project manage scope in accordance with business governance process.
- Work closely with maintenance and operations to ensure safe management of works.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- 10+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor Degree of Engineering (Civil), RPEQ registration is desirable.
- Project Management Certification or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor Degree of Asset Management or equivalent knowledge.
- Experience in the Water Industry.
- An ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise in a planning and tactical engineering environment.
- A natural affinity for problem solving, critical thinking, and proactive in gathering information, analysing data, and identifying suitable solutions.
- An ability to work collaboratively with a high-performing team and foster good relationships between team members, the client, and contractor.
- Strong skills in planning and organising others to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
- Effective knowledge and experience with Queensland and Australian water industry standards and specifications.
