Sr. Director - Tailings and Mine Waste Engineering

SLR delivers responsible, high-impact solutions across the mining lifecycle.

We seek an experienced Sr. Director to lead our Tailings and Mine Waste Engineering team in the Asia-Pacific region.

  • Represent the Asia-Pacific region within a globally connected team of tailings and mine waste engineers.
  • Influence strategy, innovation and growth across a regional business.
  • Provide technical leadership and deliver projects with impact, supported by a collaborative team.

Responsibilities:

  • Growing and strengthening the team through strategic recruitment and continued development.
  • Inspiring and guiding regional team leaders and senior professionals across multiple states.
  • Managing group financial performance through resource management.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of specialisation in tailings engineering in a consulting role, with tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical / Civil / Mining Engineering.
  • Experience managing teams of consultants across different geographies and project experience across multiple states.
  • Ability to plan and deliver geotechnical site investigations for tailings projects with demonstrated experience in field and laboratory testing of tailings, soils and rock, and slope stability assessments.

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical / Civil / Mining Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of specialisation in tailings engineering in a consulting role.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams and geotechnical site investigations.
