Lead Student Wellbeing and Pastoral Care

This role is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and dedicated individual to lead student wellbeing and pastoral care within a dynamic educational environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding staff and students towards continually improving student learning and wellbeing outcomes, while ensuring consistent approaches to student wellbeing and management. They will also lead the application of restorative practices throughout the college.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate a positive and supportive school culture that fosters student growth and development.
  • Liaise with senior staff members to address ongoing behavioural/pastoral care/attendance and wellbeing concerns or issues.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve student wellbeing and engagement.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and deliver high-quality pastoral care programs.
  • Support events and activities that promote student wellbeing and engagement.

Selection Criteria:

  • A strong understanding of student wellbeing principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Sensitivity, compassion, and patience in dealing with complex and difficult situations.
  • High level of discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.

Position Details:

  • Term 4, 2025 or later by negotiation.
  • POL4 with a time allowance: 0.5 FTE (22 / 44 periods per cycle).
  • This role is for a two-year term (the successful candidate will receive an ongoing contract for a teaching position).
