Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled International Engagement Specialist to lead and contribute to our international activities related to foreign policy, trade, and aid initiatives. This role will work with national and international stakeholders to drive Standards Australia's reach, relevance, reputation, and revenue through the execution of international engagement initiatives that align with national and international priorities.

About the Role

  • Manage and support the delivery of a portfolio of capacity building and technical assistance projects
  • Oversee the successful end-to-end delivery of international projects
  • Negotiate with external partners to secure relevant funding for key international policy priorities
  • Collaborate with the broader team to build and maintain strong relations with international stakeholders, coordinating effective engagement across relevant departments at Standards Australia
  • Develop relationships with decision-makers, senior managers, and other key influencers from government and industry in Australia and globally
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of continuous international engagement business process improvements

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in politics, international relations, communication, or a related field
  • A minimum of several years' experience in a professional, government, commercial, or similar international policy role
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation, management, and funding partner management
  • Detailed understanding of Australia's trade policy and economic diplomacy priorities
