Procurement Position

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Manager to lead our Purchasing team and oversee the full procurement lifecycle, ensuring strategic objectives and continuous improvement.

This role is pivotal in guaranteeing cost-effective and reliable supplier partnerships, inventory management, and procurement processes. The successful candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in purchasing and logistics, preferably within FMCG or multi-site manufacturing.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in projecting commodity usage and financial outcomes through strong data and analytical skills.
  • Strong business, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to influence and manage change.
  • Proven negotiation skills with suppliers and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, bringing a strategic mindset to supplier and cost management. They will be commercially astute, an excellent communicator, and confident leading a team while also diving deep into data-driven decision making.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the end-to-end procurement function, including supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
  • Authorising supply contracts, corrective actions, and supplier engagement strategies in line with standards.
  • Overseeing tender preparation, proposals, contract execution, and supplier performance monitoring.
  • Driving vendor analysis and cost reduction initiatives to improve overall efficiency.
  • Managing ingredient sourcing for the manufacturing process, ensuring accuracy in pricing, stock levels, and timeframes.
  • Implementing reporting mechanisms for raw material usage and procurement metrics.
  • Conducting technical and process analysis to identify improvements, advising on strategies.
  • Developing and implementing innovative procurement tools and systems.
  • Providing leadership and coaching to the Purchasing team, ensuring alignment with values and performance standards.
