This position presents a chance to work in a supportive and value-based culture, contributing to the success of our Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) services. As an experienced AOD professional, you will lead a team providing operational support, clinical expertise, and line management across multiple sites.

Job Description
  • Provide day-to-day operational leadership and supervision to the AOD team, including rostering, individual work plans, and administrative duties.
  • Support staff in reviewing and discharging clients to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Offer clinical expertise and secondary consultation to staff and external agencies for referral, assessment, and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to recruit, induct, and train new staff; lead the induction process for all new team members.
  • Communicate regularly with Senior Clinicians and Management regarding service demand and implement policies and procedures effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Line manage and supervise AOD staff on a daily basis.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of programs and services to improve client outcomes.
  • Represent the team and contribute to decision-making processes that affect the direction and operations of the service.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including partners and funding bodies.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in mental health, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years' experience working in AOD, mental health, community, or similar services.
  • Demonstrated people management and leadership skills, with experience in administrative management reporting.
  • Able to provide clinical risk assessment and management, with a strong focus on client safety and well-being.

  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  3. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
