
Environmental Assessment Specialist

We are seeking an experienced ecological consultant to lead and deliver ecological assessments, environmental approvals and contribute to conservation planning. The successful candidate will provide expert advice on a range of projects in Victoria.
About the Position
This is a key role within our team where you can make a genuine impact on how we work and contribute directly to our success in delivering environmental consulting solutions across Australia. You will have the opportunity to design and lead delivery of ecological survey programs and impact assessment tailored to client needs.
The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of Victorian ecosystems and experience working with environmental legislation and policy framework. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality reports on time and within budget.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Design and lead delivery of ecological survey programs and impact assessment tailored to client needs.
- Preparing high-quality technical reports, including ecological impact assessment, vegetation mapping, and offsets advice and strategy.
- Leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex projects.
- Providing expert advice on Victorian and Commonwealth biodiversity legislation.
- Solving fieldwork, data analysis, and reporting.
- Liaising with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure project delivery aligns with client and regulator needs.
- Preparing project proposals and tender submissions.
- Supporting junior staff in their professional development.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in botany, ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ecological consulting or a related field.
- Skills:
- Demonstrated expertise in Australian ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation and Victorian policy framework.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality reports on time and within budget.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A current and valid driver's licence.
- You must have the right to work in Australia to apply for this job.
