Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and vision to effectively manage the team consistent with statutory responsibilities and the Commission's operational policies.
  • Lead and coordinate the development of regulatory intelligence capabilities and products to support regulatory activities.
  • Provide high-level analysis on complex and sensitive issues, identifying opportunities, solutions, and strategies to address contentious, long-term, and emergent issues.
  • Establish effective communication systems both internally and externally to ensure stakeholders are consulted and informed as required.
  • Deliver briefings and documentation to clearly communicate findings of analysis to influence executive decision making.
  • Represent the Branch and Commission at meetings and forums to provide expert intelligence and advice on key regulatory issues.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in engaging with stakeholders in relation to difficult and/or sensitive issues.
  • Excellent research, conceptual thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand and clearly communicate complex analytical findings.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the capability to self-manage multiple competing priorities while working to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including quality assurance abilities.
  • Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong data and regulatory intelligence literacy and reporting skills, including structured analytical techniques.
  • Understanding of the role of data, intelligence, and information by modern regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to manage, develop, and lead a team including data and intelligence specialist staff.
