Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled planning professional to lead our Statutory Planning team in delivering exceptional customer service experience to our community.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to establish themselves in a leadership role, jointly leading the team in the delivery of a wide scope of planning work.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading the team to deliver pragmatic, consistent, and desired outcomes. They will also be expected to jointly lead the team to deliver a highly customer-focused experience with all customers interacting with our Planning Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the team to deliver high-quality planning services to our community
- Maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders, including local government, developers, and community groups
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
- Providing technical advice and guidance to colleagues and external stakeholders
- Collaborating with other departments to achieve organisational goals and objectives
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or equivalent
- Proven experience in statutory planning, preferably in a leadership role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on achieving shared goals and objectives
