Job Purpose

Field campaigners develop and implement effective campaigns to support members in achieving fairness at work, job security, and the best possible pay and conditions.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who is passionate about social justice and community campaigning to join our team.

The primary function of this role is to recruit new members, engage existing members, build commitment and activism, and support delegates and workplace leaders in their workplaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement successful recruitment strategies.
  2. Build relationships with members, delegates, and workplace leaders to increase union membership and engagement.
  3. Engage with non-members and workers who don't have a relationship with us.
  4. Support and empower delegates and workplace leaders to lead from the workplace.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:
  • A commitment to union values and principles, helping others and making a contribution to society.
  • High level verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and organise, build relationships, motivate and develop individuals or groups.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to plan and organise work and achieve outcomes.
  • Ability to work semi-autonomously, demonstrate initiative, drive and resilience in a changing environment.
  • Well-developed written communication skills.
  • Current Driver's License.
Highly Desirable:
  • Experience working in sales or membership recruitment, with a strong focus on meeting recruitment objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to develop and implement successful sales/recruitment strategies.
