Our organization is currently seeking a skilled Casual Irrigation Technician to join our team in the Mildura region of Victoria. This role offers job security and long-term career prospects for an individual with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.

About the Job
  • The ideal candidate will possess experience working in a similar role, preferably in irrigation or a related field.
  • Responsibilities will include implementing water and fertigation plans to meet seasonal requirements, cleaning and maintaining sprinkler and drip irrigation systems, checking irrigation schedules, and troubleshooting any issues.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for mixing and distributing fertilizers while accurately recording usage.

In this exciting opportunity, you will work closely with experienced farm teams to ensure onsite water infrastructure is correctly monitored, repaired, and maintained to meet the farm's irrigation requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement water and fertigation plans according to seasonal requirements.
  • Clean, repair, and maintain sprinkler and drip irrigation systems.
  • Check that irrigation has gone as scheduled and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Mix and distribute fertilizers accurately recording usage.

A strong understanding of soils and irrigation principles is essential for this role. Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve irrigation issues, along with literacy and numeracy skills to maintain accurate irrigation records, are also required.
