Job Title: Urban Park Specialist


Job Description:

The role of the Urban Park Specialist involves overseeing the maintenance and development of public spaces, including parks, gardens, and streetscapes. This includes managing the upkeep of reserves, ovals, and other outdoor areas, as well as ensuring that all plant and equipment are properly maintained and serviced.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of horticulture and arboriculture practices, and will be able to provide expert advice on tree management and pruning services. They will also be responsible for leading small teams and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant qualifications in horticulture or arboriculture, such as a Certificate III in Horticulture or Arboriculture
  • Experience in park maintenance and development, including irrigation system management and tree pruning
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and community members
  • Current driver's license and Class 2 (MR) license
  • Work Zone Traffic Management (WZTM) Accreditation and Elevated Work Platform operation accreditation
