About the Role

We are seeking experienced Engineers/Senior Engineers to join our Operations Planning team.

These roles will involve providing detailed engineering, analytical, and programming support to solve challenging technical problems, participating in projects that improve the operation of the power system in our Operations Division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex computer-based network analysis to identify issues/violations on the interconnected National Electricity Market (NEM) and provide operational advice and instructions.
  • Assess planned network outages in the short term (ST) timeframe and over multiple regions to identify and determine any corrective action required for identified system security and reliability issues.
  • Provide key analytical and technical input related to the preparation of operational analysis, advice, and instructions to our Real Time Operations team and stakeholders.
  • Review the provision of short-term reserve assessment to ensure timely publication of relevant accurate information.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications preferably in Electrical Engineering with a power system focus or equivalent discipline.
  • Proficient use of programming languages, analytical software packages, and Microsoft Office product suite.
  • Understanding of the power system with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve technical problems.
  • Competency in the use of network analysis tools.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and written and prepare technical reports.
