Key Engineering Roles - Operations Planning

The Operations Planning team is looking for experienced engineers/senior engineers to provide detailed engineering, analytical, and programming support in solving challenging technical problems.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex computer-based network analysis to identify issues/violations on the National Electricity Market (NEM) and provide operational advice and instructions to the Real Time Operations team.
  • Assess planned network outages in the short-term timeframe and over multiple regions to identify and determine any corrective action required for identified system security and reliability issues.
  • Provide key analytical and technical input related to the preparation of operational analysis, advice, and instructions to the Real Time Operations team and key stakeholders.
  • Review the provision of short-term reserve assessment to ensure timely publication of relevant accurate information.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (preferably in Electrical Engineering with a power system focus) or equivalent relevant discipline.
  • Proficient use of programming languages (Python, SQL etc), analytical software packages, and Microsoft Office product suite.
  • Understanding of the power system with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve technical problems.
  • Competency in the use of network analysis tools.
