Operational Risk Manager

Create a significant impact as an Operational Risk Manager.

This is a key role in the largest general insurance group in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

  • Lead a dedicated team responsible for managing operational risk profiles, developing and testing risk controls—particularly through automation—and embedding quality assurance frameworks across the organisation.
  • Support business transformation, drive operational efficiency, and uplift overall risk maturity.
  • Guide your team through regular risk assessments, audits, and the design and validation of risk controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proven experience in operational risk management and quality assurance, preferably within a commercial insurance environment.
  • Proven team leadership experience with ability to coach others and lead continuous improvement initiatives across operational teams.
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and quality standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Demonstrated experience with automation tools to streamline risk control design and testing processes.
