ARTC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Systems Lead to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's Safety Management System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Safety Management System to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Manager – Integrated Process Framework to align the Safety Management System with the Integrated Management System framework.
  • Develop and maintain work health and safety products, including documentation and training tools, to support the organization's safety management system.
  • Stay up-to-date with legislative developments, current and emerging work, health & safety, and rail safety best practices.
  • Provide leadership and expert advice, coaching, and support to the operations team on requirements of the Safety Management System.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety or related discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in management system certification and accreditation with regard to WHS.
  • Knowledge of IMS management frameworks and experience in designing IMS systems.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships to identify opportunities, resolve problems, and deliver on organisational outcomes.
  • Excellent critical thinking, and process and system analysis skills, including the ability to identify opportunities for workflow and system improvements and design/implement effectively.
  • Background in construction, rail or high-risk industry.
