Aboriginal Training Coordinator Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Aboriginal Training Coordinator to drive initiatives that increase Aboriginal employment within our district. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and coordinating education and training programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and coordinate Aboriginal traineeships, cadetships, and internships to enhance career opportunities for Aboriginal students.
  • Improve Aboriginal employment across clinical and non-clinical roles by developing and implementing effective strategies.
  • Work with various programs to support the career growth of Aboriginal students and increase their representation in multiple professional streams.
  • Partner with educational institutions to create opportunities for Aboriginal students to pursue higher education and training.

Requirements:

  • Experience in, and broad knowledge of, the NSW healthcare system, including its policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in coordination of large projects and/or programs, with a focus on and understanding of Vocational Education Training (VET) programs.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills with an ability to draft high-quality correspondence and reports.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail and ability to work with minimal direction.
  • High-level customer service and stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated ability to liaise with clients from diverse backgrounds.
