A commercial litigation specialist is required to join our expanding disputes team, contributing to a wide range of matters across Queensland, New South Wales and federal jurisdictions.
The ideal candidate will work closely with senior litigators on complex commercial disputes, utilizing their expertise in legal research, drafting and negotiation to achieve optimal results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive legal research and preparing well-drafted memos and reports
- Drafting pleadings, affidavits, submissions and other court documents with precision and attention to detail
- Reviewing and analyzing disclosure material, identifying key issues and preparing compelling evidence
- Managing client communication, providing regular updates and ensuring seamless collaboration
- Preparing for trials, mediations and hearings, showcasing exceptional organizational skills
- Supporting senior lawyers while developing independence and taking ownership of projects
- Effectively managing file documentation, court deadlines and diaries to ensure timely completion of tasks
Requirements:
- Admission in Queensland and over 2 years' experience in commercial litigation, with a proven track record of success
- Excellent drafting and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas simply and effectively
- A strong sense of initiative and accountability, coupled with a collaborative and down-to-earth attitude
- Attention to detail and sound legal reasoning, with the ability to analyze complex information and identify key issues
