Strategic Financial Leadership

We are seeking an experienced Finance Partner to join our team and provide strategic financial leadership and support. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the contract by developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with the contract's objectives and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with the contract's objectives and goals.
  • Overseeing the preparation, monitoring, and management of budgets for multiple bases across the region.
  • Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Conducting detailed cost analysis and forecasting to support decision-making and optimise financial performance.
  • Identifying financial risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure the financial stability of the contract.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, government agencies, and contractors, to provide financial insights and support.
  • Coordinating internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Considerable experience in senior finance or accounting, preferably within the defence or government sector.
  • Experience managing finances for multiple locations within a state or region.
  • Familiarity with government financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience coordinating and managing financial audits.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial management principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Professional certification (CPA) is preferred.
  • A valid driver's licence.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be an Australian citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
