Senior Pharmacist Role

The Senior Pharmacist role is a vital position within our organisation, responsible for providing expert clinical pharmacy support to Oncology and Haematology services. This includes ensuring safe prescribing, preparation, administration of systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT) and collaborating with Consultants, Nurses and Multidisciplinary teams to optimise treatment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and provide expert clinical pharmacy support to Oncology and Haematology services.
  • Ensure safe prescribing, preparation, administration of systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT).
  • Collaborate with Consultants, Nurses and Multidisciplinary teams to optimise treatment outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Currently registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated high-level skills and experience as a clinical pharmacist: this includes advanced level knowledge of therapeutics in the areas of oncology and haematology, relevant legislation and ability to apply these skills in practice.
  • Staff management experience in a public hospital environment, demonstrating an ability to lead, promote teamwork and innovation, and manage and supervise clinical and support staff.
