About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to lead and manage the Finance Department at City of Ryde. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the organisation's long-term financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee comprehensive financial management accounting services, including financial planning, budgeting, and control.
  • Manage procurement, investments management, taxation, and rates and revenue operations.
  • Provide strategic advice on budget management, financial performance, and emerging issues.
  • Develop and implement robust financial systems, controls, and policies that align with accounting standards and relevant legislation.
Requirements
  • Degree level qualification in a financial or accounting discipline.
  • Member of CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Regulations, Code of Accounting Practice, other legislation and global & market conditions.
  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally (Auditors, NSW Treasury, IPART etc.).
  • Experience in developing strategies, policies and internal controls.
  • Extensive experience in developing and managing the preparation and analysis of complex financial information to support financial decision making.
