We're seeking a talented Farm Underwriter to join our Commercial Farm Underwriting team in Sydney, NSW. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional underwriting services to our Broker partners, ensuring the delivery of quality products and services to our customers.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Action new business referrals and provide renewals and endorsements aligned to the Farm Underwriting Strategy, considering the needs and circumstances of customers.
  • Complete workflows such as new business referrals, renewals, and endorsements to ensure delivery of quality products and services.
  • Manage relationships across a designated portfolio, focusing on underwriting Farm insurance as per delegated authority limits.
  • Anticipate and provide solutions to customers' needs from available information, designing sustainable responses to suit their circumstances.
  • Ensure business offerings align with divisional objectives, portfolio balance, and Cycle Management strategies (growth and profit).
  • Maximise retention of assigned accounts and ensure timely review of renewal business in conjunction with internal requirements.
  • Underwrite with adherence to underwriting guidelines, actively managing the portfolio and applying remediation to stressed accounts to ensure a profitable position and manage inherent risks.
  • Stay abreast of market conditions and trends, maintaining a market presence in SA and the Farm community within Allianz, providing feedback to stakeholders and taking action to capitalise on business opportunities.
  • Ensure appropriate actions are taken to ensure all contract certainty targets are adhered to.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in commercial lines of business, with applicants from underwriting, account management, or broking backgrounds considered.
  • Experience in a commercial underwriting role (Farm experience desirable) in a general insurance organisation.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks, and manage competing resources and demands.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to optimise business value to customers by delivering high-quality services and positive customer experiences.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to interpret and analyse information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact, and influence.
  • Thorough understanding of account and reinsurance structures.
  • Ability to coach and influence people to develop individual and team potential.
