Commercial Farm Underwriting Opportunity

At Allianz, we are seeking a talented Commercial Farm Underwriter to join our team in Sydney, NSW. As a Commercial Farm Underwriter, you will play a critical role in delivering a market-leading customer experience to our Broker partners in NSW and nationally.

About the Role

  • Action new business referrals and provide renewals and endorsements aligned to the Farm Underwriting Strategy, taking into account the needs and circumstances of customers.
  • Complete workflows such as new business referrals, renewals, and endorsements to ensure the delivery of quality products and services.
  • Manage relationships across a designated portfolio, focusing on underwriting Farm insurance within delegated authority limits.
  • Anticipate and provide solutions to customers' needs from available information, designing sustainable responses to suit their circumstances.
  • Ensure that business offerings are aligned with divisional objectives, portfolio balance, and Cycle Management strategies (growth and profit).
  • Maximise retention of assigned accounts and conduct timely reviews of renewal business in conjunction with internal requirements.
  • Underwrite in accordance with underwriting guidelines, actively managing the portfolio and applying remediation to stressed accounts to maintain a profitable position and manage inherent risks.
  • Stay abreast of market conditions and trends, maintaining a market presence in SA and the Farm community within Allianz, providing feedback to stakeholders and taking action to capitalise on business opportunities.
  • Ensure that appropriate actions are taken to adhere to contract certainty targets.

Requirements

  • Experience in the commercial lines of business is required; applicants from underwriting, account management, or broking backgrounds are considered.
  • Experience in a commercial underwriting role (Farm experience is desirable) in a general insurance organisation.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks, and manage competing resources and demands.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and ability to optimise business value to customers by delivering high-quality services and positive customer experiences.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to interpret and analyse information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact, and influence.
  • Thorough understanding of account and reinsurance structures.
  • Ability to coach and influence people to develop individual and team potential.
