**The opportunity**
This is an exciting chance for an experienced Actuarial professional to join QBE Insurance in the role of
- **Actuarial Manager. **With a key focus on providing actuarial valuation and portfolio support for our Australian short tail products (Property, Motor, Marine, Farm), you will develop knowledge across a wide range of products.**Your new role**
- Develop and uplift the short tail reserving platform
- Support end to end reserving processes as part of a reserving transformation that focuses on analytics and insights
- Actively engage in the actuarial control cycle - reserving, forecasts, budgets by engaging finance and pricing teams through insights sharing and review of these key deliverables through strong cross functional collaboration
- Forge working relationships across the organization with peers in product, underwriting, pricing, distribution, and claims.
- Give thought provoking insight when assisting the business with key decisions
- Be an active member of the QBE actuarial community
**About you**
To drive success in this role, you will demonstrate general insurance actuarial experience, with knowledge of reserving. You will also possess:
- An ability to analyse, interpret and extrapolate data from several sources and resolve issues in a fast paced environment across a broad area of accountability
- Demonstrated skills in communicating concepts verbally and in writing in a simple, professional manner across a wide range of focus areas
- Newly or nearly qualified as a Fellow with the Actuaries Institute (or equivalent)
- Problem solving, critical thinking, conflict resolution and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in commonly used actuarial software packages
