**Senior Manager, Ground Infrastructure Operations**

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Manager to lead our Ground Infrastructure Operations team at Amazon. As a key member of our Kuiper team, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence initiatives, designing meetings, coordinating with engineering teams and external partners, and on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Systems Development Engineers and Physical Security Managers.
  • Work in an environment where operational excellence is the first priority.
  • Meet with stakeholders regularly to ensure solutions are meeting the needs of the business.
  • Participate in strategic planning, brainstorm improvements, and work to uphold the quality bar across the organization.
  • Define and drive projects and report on their progress.
  • Drive continual improvement in systems operations through tool building and automation.

A Day in the Life

As a Senior Manager, you will spend your days reviewing the operational performance of the Kuiper Ground Network, meeting with your team and internal stakeholders to maintain alignment with larger organizational goals, and driving operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in leading Systems Development and/or DevOps, SRE teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to interact efficiently with peers and customers.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle.
  • Experience working with Linux/Unix and interpreted languages like Python.
  • High-level understanding and experience of cloud technologies.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience of working with AWS products.
  • Experience with distributed computing and large-scale systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
