About the Role

AECOM's Environment Business in Perth is seeking an experienced environmental professional to join our high-performing Impact Assessment & Permitting (IAP) Team. As a Principal Environmental Scientist, you will play a key role in delivering excellence in client-service on projects from various markets, including Power (renewables and grid modernization), Mining, Transport, and Defence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with industry specialists to undertake and coordinate environmental impact assessments and approvals on high-profile, challenging projects.
  • Collaborate with Management Teams to ensure environmental matters are appropriately considered and managed at all stages of design development and project construction.
  • Project manage, develop bids, and develop relationships with clients and stakeholders on a range of projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and confidence in managing multidisciplinary technical teams to identify risks, solve problems, communicate change through planning, design, and approval processes.
  • Support the continued growth of our business and foster the development of environmental planning and approvals across the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline such as environmental science.
  • Strong environmental impact assessment experience, approvals, or planning approvals across various market sectors and a good industry reputation.
  • Demonstrated experience working on major projects.
  • Solid project management/coordination skills, and commercial acumen to effectively manage resources, timelines, quality, and budgets.
  • Emotional intelligence to develop and maintain positive peer and client relationships.
  • Strong team player, influencer, and collaborator.
  • Good communicator with proven technical knowledge and a strong client focus.
