We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Environmental Scientist to lead our ecohydrology projects and contribute to the development of innovative environmental assessment methods.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Leading or supporting ecohydrology and environmental impact assessment projects, including riparian vegetation surveys and research to improve inland water and ecosystem assessments.
- Developing, refining, and reviewing hydrogeological and biological assessment methods to ensure continuous improvement.
- Analyzing ecosystems and landforms using ground and remote data to evaluate function and trends.
- Providing technical inputs for environmental approvals and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Preparing and reviewing scopes of work, technical reports, and datasets to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including technical specialists and project teams.
Key Requirements:
- Master's degree in botany, ecology, hydrology, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
- Experience leading or contributing to ecological or hydrological projects, preferably in the resources sector or Pilbara region.
- Knowledge of Pilbara flora and vegetation, as well as field survey practices.
- Strategic thinking and ability to provide technical inputs for environmental approvals.
- Strong partnering skills and influence, with the ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Proficient in time management and prioritizing complex tasks, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive stakeholder relationships.
- Experience with GIS software, preferably ArcGIS.
