About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Production Engineer to join a leading Australian manufacturer based on the Northern Beaches. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for engineering matters relating to planning, managing, and maintaining production methods and processes from conceptual design through to automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organizing, planning, commissioning, and maintaining production lines
  • Manufacturing of jigs and fixtures on site
  • Improving existing operations by incorporating new methods and processes
  • Equipment purchase and installation, including upgrades to existing equipment
  • Investigating operational problems affecting production
  • Preparation of manufacturing documentation
  • Providing technical expertise and support
  • Coordination of projects and managing project budgets
  • Troubleshooting, including corrective action
  • Training of staff in process and equipment
  • Detailed documentation upon project completion
  • Participating in and managing ISO audits

Requirements

  • Proven knowledge and experience in a range of different manufacturing technologies, including servo, stepper, and linear motion control systems, vision inspection systems, PLC control design and programming, process control system design and implementation, SCADA/MMI/HMI software, conveyors and parts feed systems, rotary and linear past indexing and transport systems
  • Strong WHS commitment in the workplace
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
