Animal Care Professional

We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as an Animal Care Professional at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium.

This role will involve creating and maintaining engaging world-class displays, delivering memorable guest experiences, and ensuring the best-practice animal welfare.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain high-quality displays that connect guests with our animals.
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences through interactive talks, animal feedings, and other activities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of animal management plans to ensure the health and well-being of our animals.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 2 years paid experience in an animal care role in a zoo or aquarium setting.
  • Tertiary qualifications in animal care and/or marine biology.
  • Guest-obsessed, with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check and full NSW Driver's License.
Desirable Qualifications
  • SCUBA Diver certification (Rescue or higher).
  • Boat handling experience (Coxswains Unrestricted or Restricted).
  • ADAS Occupation SCUBA Part 1 or Aquarium Diver certification.
  • Experience in animal training using positive-reinforcement techniques.
