Renewable Energy Account Manager Job Summary

This position is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to provide support to the department as an Account Manager. The role will be based in Melbourne, with Sydney as a potential alternative, and report to the Client Service Manager based in Toronto.

The Account Manager will develop and maintain positive and supportive relationships with key clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders. They will leverage these relationships to help meet client retention, company growth, and profitability objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the renewable energy market and experience in property underwriting and account management. They will possess excellent skills in sales/negotiation/presentation, verbal and written communication, planning and organizing, analysis, judgment, decision-making, problem-solving, interpersonal relations, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective account business plans to drive client retention and company growth.
  • Provide leadership to the overall account team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform underwriting and insurance servicing activities on existing and prospective accounts, using knowledge of exposures specific to the renewable energy space.
  • Collaborate with the Renewable Team Management on new business development and client servicing strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor offerings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or an equivalent preferred.
  • Preferred recognized industry education designation (e.g., ANZIIF, or equivalent).
  • 5+ years of property underwriting experience and/or account management experience desired.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as utility-scale PV solar, onshore wind, and battery storage systems.
  • Demonstrated track record in establishing and maintaining a strong network of collaborative industry contacts.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required.
