We are seeking a Senior Derivatives Counsel to join our team at Axiom, a leading global-based investment bank. This role will involve drafting and negotiating documentation associated with commodities and derivatives as part of a busy and collaborative team.

This is an exciting opportunity where you can bring your legal background and business acumen to tackle complex legal challenges on a global scale.

Responsibilities
  • Support legal and business teams with reviewing, drafting, and negotiating ISDA agreements with an emphasis on commodities and metals.
  • Draft and negotiate OTC commodity derivatives documentation including ISDAs, CSAs, control agreements, confidentiality agreements, collateral agreements, risk participation agreements, give-up agreements, confirmations and ancillary documentation.
  • Provide legal counsel to internal business leaders and external counsel to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and federal and international rules and regulations.
  • Assist in the implementation of new initiatives, processes, or protocols in an ever-shifting market.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience practicing law, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience negotiating ISDA agreements, ideally within a large investment bank.
  • Firm understanding of the regulatory landscape impacting derivatives and commodities capital markets and ability to provide sound legal advice to ensure compliance.
  • Excellent knowledge of all OTC derivatives documentation with experience with commodities or metals being very beneficial although not required.
  • Sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize matters in a busy and fast-paced environment.
