At American Express, we recognize that our customers are the backbone of our success. As a Credit & Collections Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional customer experience, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible support in managing their accounts.

This exciting opportunity is part of our Consumer & Small Business Credit team in Australia and New Zealand, where you will be responsible for assessing and understanding customers' financial situations to offer appropriate hardship solutions. Your expertise in customer service, communication, and negotiation skills will be essential in building strong relationships with our customers.

With a structured training program and ongoing guidance, you will have the tools and support to succeed in this dynamic role. You will be working closely with your team to share knowledge, ideas, and best practices, and participate in regular meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on company policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include providing excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns related to their accounts, monitoring and managing assigned accounts to ensure accurate records and timely follow-ups, and participating in team efforts to meet business objectives.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong communication and negotiation skills, an empathetic and patient approach when dealing with customers in financial distress, and the ability to handle difficult conversations and remain calm under pressure.
