As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the commercial and contracting landscape of our organization.

The Opportunity

This role requires a skilled professional who can provide expert input on commercial and contractual matters prior to qualification of strategic pursuits. You will be responsible for reviewing and aligning proposed commercial and contracting positions during RFPs, supporting subcontracting processes, and negotiating contracts for all contracting.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design of competitive commercial terms for strategic deals, working closely with pursuit leaders, pricing, and quality and risk management practitioners.
  • Review client-proposed commercial and contracting terms to balance competitiveness and risk avoidance, working closely with pursuit leaders, pricing, and various QRM practitioners.
  • Elevate insights to QRM practitioners during qualification and collate required changes to contracts or constructs during deal evaluation and negotiation.
  • Prioritize and present contract variations and risk management plans for approval from the deal qualification process.
  • Support subcontracting processes, including creation and negotiation of NDA's, teaming agreements, pass-through T&Cs, and subcontracts.
  • Collaborate on commercial and contract negotiations with Pursuit Leads and Engagement Partners, supported by Legal and QRM for strategic deals.
  • Develop existing contract templates and T&Cs during pursuits and negotiations, working with Legal.
  • Consult on contract structures and templates, aligning them with pursuit needs and client requests.
  • On successful conclusion of an RFP process, integrate proposed contract deviations into contracts, develop and review Statements of Work, and formalize contracts.
  • Provide Contract Management transition functionality on Strategic Deals-supported contracts and accounts.
  • Develop and utilize EY contract management processes and tools suitable for different service deliveries.
  • Become the short-term SPOC and long-term SME for Strategic Deals-supported projects/client teams.
  • Utilize and transfer deal knowledge to EY's Global Delivery Services contract management practitioners.
  • Automate and modernize CM processes.
  • Transfer commercial and contract knowledge to EY pursuit and delivery teams.
  • Capture knowledge into EY artefacts supporting strategic pursuits.
  • Pose credible options, influence appropriately, and reach resolution with senior leaders.
  • Navigate successfully across boundaries, adapting personal style to gain cooperation and commitment on pursuit or team initiatives.
  • Demonstrate versatility in a constantly evolving environment with a wide variety of social styles.
  • Influence/challenge account teams to optimize chances of winning.
Requirements
  • A law degree and/or a post-graduate business or contract law qualification is essential.
  • 5+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Proven contractual drafting skills.
  • Experience supporting negotiations for complex managed services and professional services opportunities.
  • Experience in practical contract management or similar experience gained in a top-tier professional services firm.
  • Significant experience working in a cross-border, multi-cultural environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills.
Ideal Qualifications
  • ITIL and service management experience (e.g., creation, negotiation, and management of Service Levels/KPIs & Service Credits).
  • Demonstrated influence and gravitas, as well as persuasion skills towards EY Partners, pursuit teams, and external clients.
