Are you passionate about supporting recovery and reducing gambling harm? We are currently seeking a qualified Gambling Counsellor to join our team in Queanbeyan NSW.
This role is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Australians affected by gambling. As a Gambling Counsellor, you will work with individuals, couples, families, and groups to provide therapeutic interventions and support services.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in psychology or counselling, current membership with a recognised professional association, and experience in therapeutic counselling. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities- Provide face-to-face, telephone, and online therapeutic counselling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals.
- Deliver services in line with the program framework, including intake, assessment, and evidence-based interventions.
- Facilitate group support sessions to address gambling harm in the community.
- Respond to referrals promptly and make appropriate internal and external referrals to support clients holistically.
- Degree in Psychology or Counselling / Other related Degree and Diploma in Counselling.
- Current membership of a relevant peak professional body or association.
- Proven experience in therapeutic counselling, including assessment, case planning, and the delivery of individual, couple, family, and group sessions across face-to-face, phone, and online settings.
- A strong understanding of gambling-related harm and the challenges experienced by affected individuals and families.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement tailored treatment plans supporting client recovery and wellbeing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
