About the Role:

Providence Consulting is seeking an experienced Procurement and Contract Officer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for formulating direction and advice, supporting change, and influencing both internal and external stakeholders in procurement and contract management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement and Contract Management: Establish best practice in procurement or contract management processes, policies, and procedures within an organization.
  • Project Support: Collaborate with the wider team to support projects through contractual negotiations, risks, and issues.
  • Procurement in a Government Environment: Manage complex procurement in a government environment, including requirements definition and tender documentation.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist with straightforward financial analysis and/or help create costing models related to the procurement activity.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Achieve project outcomes by using highly developed communication, negotiation, persuasion, and interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with project stakeholders, staff, and other contractors at all levels.

Requirements:

  • Australian Defence Security Clearance: An existing/re-instatable Australian Defence security clearance.
  • Experience: Experience working as a Commercial/Contract or Commercial/Contract Officer or Procurement Specialist/Procurement Officer.
  • Influencing Stakeholders: Ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Defence Experience: Defence experience, or knowledge of Defence processes.
  • ASDEFCON Suite: Familiarity with the ASDEFCON suite of tendering and contracting.
  • Qualifications: Qualifications in procurement and/or contracts management or a related discipline (desirable).
