Electronics Engineering Lead

We are seeking a seasoned electronics engineer to lead our downhole geophysics team and drive the development of cutting-edge measurement technology.

  • This is a critical role in delivering market-leading technology and pushing boundaries in geophysics.
About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing, and supporting a small engineering team to achieve project and department goals while remaining hands-on in electronics.

  • They will end-to-end develop and support advanced geophysical logging and telemetry tools.
  • Design electronic assemblies and firmware (Linux, C++, Python) and provide hands-on design, testing, assembly, and repair of geophysical tools and components.
  • Contribute to product innovation, documentation, and scalable manufacturing.
  • Support multiple projects with electronic control expertise and technical guidance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering plus 5+ years industry experience.
  • 3+ years leadership or project management experience.
  • Proven expertise in digital signal processing, fast ADCs, MCAs, and Zynq-based applications.
  • Skilled in hardware design: VHDL/Verilog, Xilinx/Altera platforms, analogue/digital circuits, CAD, and simulation tools.
  • Proficient in firmware and controller development, with Linux, C++, and Python programming experience.
  • Strong cross-disciplinary understanding and safety-conscious approach aligned with engineering standards.
