Senior Geophysical Operations Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geophysical Operations Lead to lead field operations and drive high-quality geophysical surveys across Australia.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in geophysics, leadership skills, and experience managing crews in remote environments.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of geophysical surveys, including induced polarisation (IP), gravity, magnetics (Mag), magnetotellurics (MT), electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) & resistivity, and seismic (HVSR, MASW, Reflection & Refraction).

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a safety-first culture, compliance, and high-quality data delivery. They will be able to problem-solve under pressure and adapt to changing field conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise daily field operations, ensuring safety, productivity, and team cohesion.
  • Plan and execute surveys by translating project designs into practical workflows.
  • Ensure data quality through first-pass QA/QC to meet and exceed company standards.
  • Drive safety and compliance by leading toolbox meetings, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
  • Communicate effectively between the field crew and Project Manager, keeping projects on schedule and clients informed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geophysics or Geosciences, with a minimum of 5 years' field experience.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing crews in remote environments.
  • Commitment to a safety-first culture, compliance, and high-quality data delivery.
  • Ability to problem-solve under pressure and adapt to changing field conditions.
