Job Description

This Electrical Supervisor position involves overseeing electrical activities, ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities, and coordinating regular inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and components.

The successful candidate will also supervise critical HV and LV electrical maintenance tasks, assist in work planning and scheduling, and communicate plant targets with the maintenance team.

Key duties include:

  • Accepting statutory appointment as an Electrical Supervisor and ensuring compliance with associated statutory responsibilities.
  • Supervising and coordinating the electrical activities to ensure productive and quality work outputs.
  • Coordinating regular inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Supervising critical HV and LV electrical maintenance tasks to ensure safe and timely completion.
  • Assisting, guiding, and mentoring the team as required, and providing hands-on assistance when needed.
  • Liaising closely with the superintendent and process team to prioritize electrical services.
  • Assisting in work planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, with a focus on the weekly electrical maintenance plan.
  • Communicating plant targets with the maintenance team.
  • Ensuring employees receive adequate training and instruction to perform their work.
  • Discharging obligations under Section 44 of the WA Mines Safety & Inspections Act.
  • Complying with WA Mines Safety and Inspections Act and Regulations, and Duty of Care.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • A WA 'A' Class Electrical License.
  • High Voltage Operators Accreditation.
  • Cert IV in Instrumentation (preferred).
  • Scheduled 26 certification.
  • Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or equivalent (preferred).
  • A Construction induction white card.
  • A current Australian 'C' class manual Drivers License.
  • Proven financial, risk, commercial, contractual, and human resource management skills.
  • Strong proven qualities of leadership, integrity, loyalty, and performance management.
  • Proven performance on successful projects with an exemplary safety track record.
  • The ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings and fault-finding control circuits.
  • The ability to mentor and lead a team of electricians.
