Job Title:

  • We are seeking a Senior Government Liaison Officer to join our team.
About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with our Government and Stakeholder Division to facilitate engagement with government agencies across the organisation.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Support the execution of government engagement strategic objectives by developing and implementing effective liaison strategies.
  2. Establish and build on relationships of trust and credibility with government stakeholders, including senior Departmental and Ministerial office levels.
  3. Provide high-level support for the preparation, organisation and review of papers, briefings, policies, and reports related to government engagement.
  4. Monitor and report on emerging government issues, manage government-related events, issues, and briefings, and serve as the primary point of contact for government agencies.
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Demonstrated experience in government relations within Australia, particularly in complex and issues-rich environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australia's electricity and gas sectors.
  • A detailed understanding of the machinery of government, including direct experience liaising at senior Departmental and Ministerial office levels, with preference for Federal experience.
  • Strong networks and reputation established with governments, preferably at the Federal level.
