Key Governance Position

This esteemed role offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape the governance framework for a forward-thinking regional council. As Manager of Governance and Risk, you will be responsible for ensuring the Council's legislative, regulatory, and strategic obligations are met.

The ideal candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in governance, law, policy, risk management, or business, combined with demonstrated experience in governance, legal, or administrative roles involving risk management practices.

About You
  • You should have a sound understanding of relevant legislation and be able to interpret and apply statutory requirements with accuracy and confidence.
  • A post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline would be highly valued.
  • Demonstrated skills in mentoring and developing staff will also be beneficial.
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead governance and risk frameworks, including Enterprise Risk Management, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery Plans.
  • Manage and chair the Audit, Risk & Improvement Committee (ARIC), representing and advocating for Council's interests.
  • Oversee statutory compliance, corporate registers, and integrated planning/reporting obligations.
