Job Opportunity
The Fairfield City Council is seeking highly motivated individuals to join its Infrastructure Services Division as labourers. As a labourer, you will work across the unit assisting the team with general labouring duties, including operating plant equipment, maintaining and/or constructing roads, footpaths, and drainage infrastructure, installing, maintaining & relocating traffic management devices, and performing general maintenance of the council's civil & built infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the maintenance and construction of roads, footpaths, and drainage infrastructure;
- Operate plant equipment for various tasks such as excavation, grading, and asphalt laying;
- Install, maintain, and relocate traffic management devices;
- Participate in general maintenance of the council's civil and built infrastructure;
- A SafeWork General Construction Induction Card (White Card);
- A current Class C Driver's Licence;
- Possession of a Current Class MR or HR NSW Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licence (or willingness to obtain) desirable;
- Experience and/or qualifications in labouring on road maintenance and construction projects desirable;
- A Certificate III in Civil Construction desirable;
- A permanent position;
- A 76-hour 9-day fortnight schedule;
