Rail Asset Management Leader

V/Line is a leading transport provider in Victoria, committed to connecting Victorians through safe, reliable, and accessible transport.
As the Director, Asset Management & Performance, you will be responsible for overseeing major asset maintenance programs that directly impact the safety, performance, and reliability of our rail network.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor teams to enhance performance. They will also have extensive experience in managing rail infrastructure and asset maintenance programs, as well as a deep understanding of infrastructure maintenance and management.
A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with asset management standards and best practices.
We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including free myki travel and flexible working arrangements.
This is a pivotal leadership role that will drive the current and future of asset management in a dynamic and transformative rail environment.
Key accountabilities include:
- Leading the Asset Management Team to meet strategic objectives and foster continuous improvement
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on asset management initiatives
- Developing and implementing a strategic vision for the asset maintenance program that aligns with organisational goals
- Oversight of the development and execution of the asset management annual works plan, managing financial outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction
- Promoting and ensuring adherence to ISO 55001 principles for ongoing accreditation and best practices
- Risk management through robust processes
- Budget oversight, cost control, and financial reporting
