">Job Description

The Policy Officer role sits within the Consumer Housing team in Regulation Policy. The officer will support the delivery of rental reforms and Housing Statement initiatives.

The Policy Officer provides critical analysis and input to Cabinet processes and major DGS reforms from a Consumer Affairs perspective. They require sound communication and interpersonal skills to liaise across DGS and with stakeholders, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.

The position contributes to a supportive high-performing team culture, assisting colleagues and managers.

">Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in developing or supporting the development of policy and/or regulations or legislation;
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing authoritative advice to Ministers and executives on policy matters;
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the Victorian Government operating environment, including understanding of Cabinet processes;
  • Knowledge of current policy direction, research and issues within the Consumer Affairs portfolio, or the ability to understand these issues quickly;
  • Strong writing skills with a dedication to clear and concise communication;
