Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic, supportive, and proactive Head of Learning Area (Science) to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the Science department and promoting the objectives and ethos of Christian Education as articulated in the School's Vision and Mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Science department and develop a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Science curriculum that aligns with the Western Australian Curriculum.
  • Build the capacity of staff within the Science department and create a learning environment where students can aspire, learn, and grow.
  • Develop and deliver innovative programs that promote Science to the School and wider community.
  • Enhance learning through effective use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate student outcomes and make data-driven decisions to improve teaching and learning.
Selection Criteria
  • Experience with demonstrated success in student outcomes and successful completion of ATAR courses to support WACE requirements.
  • Ability to build the capacity of staff within a culture of support and create a learning environment where students can aspire, learn, and grow.
  • Responsive to the learning strengths and needs of students from diverse linguistic, cultural, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrates innovation and creativity in the learning environment.
  • Enhance learning through effective use of ICT.
  • Proficiency in the Western Australian Curriculum.
  • Ability to initiate, organise, and deliver innovative programs that promote Science to the School and wider community.

  • A completed Teacher application form.
  • A resume.
  • A document addressing the selection criteria above (maximum two pages).
  • Your philosophy of teaching (maximum one page).
  • Registration with Teacher's Registration Board of WA (TRBWA).
  • A current Working with Children Card.
  • National Police Clearance.
  • Proof of Citizenship/Eligibility to work in Australia.
