Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising commercial opportunities within the boundaries of contracts and ensuring commercial risks are understood, documented and managed appropriately to minimise impact on the business.

This role works operationally within the Project Delivery team and is functionally situated within the Commercial Management team in the Strategic Shipbuilding Management cohort.

Specific Tasks:
  • Maintain a contract management framework through a standard set of business rules, control guidelines, practices and processes.
  • Manage all Contractual Risk across the Project, working closely with the Senior Commercial Manager to ensure appropriate governance is maintained.
  • Manage Contract Master Schedule, ensuring all key contractual deliverables are fully understood and delivered.
  • Implement and maintain Contract Performance Reports (internal and external).
  • Evaluate performance and efficiencies, address barriers and prioritise critical areas.
Requirements

To succeed in this role you will need:

- A degree or equivalent in Business, Law or Commerce.

- Commercial astuteness, understanding of commercial frameworks and interpretation of commercial clauses.

- Strong experience in negotiation & conflict resolution complimented by influencing and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to provide technical leadership, whilst building and maintaining strong working relationships within the team and across the business.

- Proven understanding of project management principles.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Competency in MS Office.
