Job Description

Shape the future of justice in Queensland as a leading legal professional. You will work directly with senior leaders, providing expert advice on complex matters that influence decision-making at the highest levels.

Lead a team of lawyers and guide critical litigation, policy, and regulatory initiatives that impact communities across the state. This is a senior leadership role at the heart of Queensland's justice system.

  • Partner with senior leaders to ensure high-quality, value-for-money legal services.
  • Provide strategic advice and manage sensitive litigation for senior leaders, particularly in employment and administrative law.
  • Monitor legal developments, anticipate risks, and advise on emerging issues affecting the department.
  • Review and endorse complex briefs and submissions with legal implications.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive post-admission experience in employment and/or administrative law.
  • A strong track record of providing high-level legal advice in complex public sector or large-scale organisational settings.
  • Strategic judgement, innovative thinking, and the ability to manage emerging legal and policy challenges.
  • Proven leadership in managing people and resources to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • A Bachelor of Laws and admission (or immediate eligibility for admission) as a legal practitioner are mandatory.
