Lead Academic Position in Nursing and Midwifery

This role has been created to cover a vacancy arising from a long-term internal secondment. The successful candidate will lead teaching teams to develop innovative curricula, inform unit/course design across multiple disciplines, and provide an excellent learning experience for students. They will also be responsible for leading major research projects, generating high-impact outputs, and developing academic collaborations that drive novel teaching, research, or creative activities.

The Associate Professor will have expertise in teaching, leadership, and service related to teaching activities. They will be expected to review and refine units and courses across disciplines within the university, integrate industry, clinical, and research practices into unit/course design, and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels/modes of delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a registered nurse.
  • Distinguished scholarly learning and teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
  • Internationally recognised research reputation underpinned by publications in high-quality journals and exhibitions relevant to the discipline.
  • Success and passion for leadership of teaching, research, and administration.
