This is a critical opportunity for an innovative and organized First Nations male to join our team as a Men's Health Promotion Officer. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering our Family Health and Wellbeing Framework - Health in the Hands of the People
Your primary objective will be to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes for First Nations communities in the Top End. You will work closely with children, young people, elders, and families to promote family health and wellbeing, creating and delivering responses to population health needs that are tailored to the local community.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a strong understanding of traditional and western health, as well as the ability to work positively with people's strengths and capacities, seeking opportunities for genuine inclusion. A minimum of 2 years' experience working within Health Promotion or a related field is also essential.
We are seeking a dynamic individual who can thrive in an environment that is complex and ambiguous. You will need to be creative, flexible, and able to engage and empower First Nations communities to identify their strengths and needs.
You will be responsible for designing and delivering health promotion activities across health and learning delivery, both on Country and in community. This will include developing resources, such as videos, books, and activities, in collaboration with First Nations staff and community members.
In addition to your technical skills, you will need to possess strong people skills, including teamwork, communication, and collaboration. You will also need to be able to work in a flexible team environment and represent our organization in meetings as requested.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of First Nations communities. If you are passionate about social justice and improving outcomes for First Nations Communities, we encourage you to apply.
