Senior Data Scientist Position

Firesoft People is a medium-sized financial services provider, leveraging innovative technologies like Snowflake and Data Robot to drive business growth. We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our team in Sydney, working in a hybrid environment that offers flexibility and collaboration opportunities.

This role involves two primary streams of work. Firstly, you will build models in Python and/or Data Robot for deployment into the Data Robot hosted environment. Your exceptional model-building skills will be applied to optimal parameter search, feature engineering, model selection, model evaluation, and model deployment. Secondly, you will work with our business stakeholders to define problems, frame solutions, and deploy effective solutions that meet their needs.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will play a crucial role in shaping our data science and analytics function through improvements to our tech stack and modelling capabilities. Your experience in operationalising machine learning models and workflows will be essential in driving business outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will need strong A/B testing experience, expert-level containerisation skills (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes), experience with mathematical optimisation methodologies, and familiarity with Data Robot and pipeline technologies like DBT or Snowflake scheduler.

You will work closely with our Lead Data Scientist to develop analytical solutions to internal business challenges, design and deploy machine learning models that are reproducible, reliable, and efficient, and establish an MLOps framework for deploying models into production environments.
